Yes , that the one; 'Habibis' darlings I think in Arabic, small obnoxious and thought he was gods gift to the bunnies.
On a Brighter note, do you remember when the club got ripped off. There was a girl (a bit of a looker) in a short skirt, with no underwear, going from table to table reaching over and placing bets!!! while her colleagues where picking up chips everywhere and placing late bets etc. The club lost a few bob, but us guys thought it was worth it!

Hi Robin and Gilly, can't believe that you've been in Polperro, all this time. I spent 10 years from 1992 to 2002 going on holiday in Cornwall, always went to Polperro for at least a day or two. (I suppose that tells me something- perhaps you saw me first, joke) I now live in Spain since 2002 and I am in midst of a move to live in czech Republic. I have spent last 15 years owning mexican restaurants and bars, both in Uk and Spain. Really pleased to know that you two are still together, best wishes David Smythe : email mere666_uk@yahoo.co.uk |

hi that was quick you do get about.its funny weve almost followed the same path i bought the mermaid 20 years ago as an hotel but did not like the long hours we changed to a pizzeria, american style because of germany and playboy after 2 years.about 5 years ago i added a texmex side to the menu and large burgers ala hard rock.my oldest son elliot who has just graduated supplies all the latest music so for old fogies the place really swings. great to here from you again best of luck with the move robin |

Hi guys,
I'm glad I have found you, I always wondered where you disappeared to. I've been in the States since I left Playboy in 1978 I think you were living in Fulham at the time. I remember a bunch of us went down to Polperro for the weekend I have photos. I'd love to catch up.

Hi, I was Bunny Elayne from 1976 to end of 79. I worked as a Croupier Bunny, Cocktail Bunny, Reception Bunny, Gift Shop Bunny, Promotion Bunny and DJ Bunny! On the odd night I was the seamstress when dear Margaret and Qwen were off sick! (Does anyone remember them?)
Before 76 I was Bunny Cecelia in 1973, being one of the youngest Bunnies at that time. I left after nine months to go to Australia for two years rejoining playboy when I got back. I so enjoyed my years at Playboy. I used to get the tube to work and walk the length of Park Lane from Marble Arch to No.45 where the big landmark emblem of the big black bunny head dominated the space between the Dorchester and the Hilton. I would often get the night bus home all the way to Barking, Essex. A bit spooky at times. I would still have my false eylashes and hair piece on and be sitting next to very tired fat old ladies off to do the city office cleaning, occassionly fascinating them in conversation about my evening at Playboy and famous visitors etc.. It was such a contrast of lives, theirs being so dull dirty and monotonous and mine so glitzy and glamorous and when our paths crossed during those twilight hours we laughed and chatted exchanging life stories.
If I felt too tired to get the bus I would enjoy the luxury of a cab and what a bonus it would be if the cabby happened to be living my way - it would inevitably be his last job and I'd get the ride for half price! Just a few memories to share with you!
I do remember Jamie! My sister, Bunny Celine is her friend and I think she may still be living in Wimbledon area.
Love to all, Elayne

Hi Bunny Pepper,
I remember you very well! My name is Elayne and I worked with you occassionaly. I saw Bunny Gwen at last year's re-union and Jerry the year before. I don't know if I remember Rae though, was she chinese?
I enjoyed reading your biography and looking at your amazing photos. The ones of you at the top of the Playboy building are amazing. The background of Park Lane traffic captures the decade and time so well. I will do a biography myself when I get time. I have just found this site so I shall dig out some old photos too.
Hope to hear from you.

Hi Everyone, it's wonderful to log in and see so many messages from people I remember so well. I was Croupier Bunny Anulla, worked from 1975 in Park Lane on nights then day shift til 1979 when I left suddenly after finding I was pregnant and threatening to miscarry. I didn't get the chance to say good bye to anyone or to get contact details and often wonder about many of the people I worked with so i really enjoyed reading all the above messages. I remember nearly everyone on this thread and many of the names mentioned in posts too!
I also remember Donald Sutherland coming in. I was on D Level blackjack and a girl on my table got his autograph and one for me too. She'd given him roulette cards and on mine he'd put his Playboy suite number and a time to go up there! Cheeky bugger, put me right off him! I also remember Abdul and the blind prince with his wives and carrier bags of cash. I think he actually had tunnel vision and played £25 chips because he could make them out against the geeen baize.
I hope some of you remember me, I've travelled around a lot but managed not to lose my copies of Playmate magazine. They live with old photos and I come across them now and again and smile at all the lovely faces and the memories I'll always have. Like many of you I don't get to talk about those days much so it's always nice to have the memory jogged.
Hope you're all well, I'd love to be in touch. |
